They are brilliantly saturated with colors, they allow sharp lines or smudged edges, they’re mistake forgiving and they don’t require brushes, solvents or canvases, so they’re travel compatible. Thursday Oct. 17, 7:00-9:00pm Experience the wonderful medium of watercolor! We will learn several painting techniques and apply them to various painting subjects each week. No prior experience is necessary, but all levels are welcome. Nancy Barick from Northville’s Art House will teach. Materials will be provided for the first class and we will discuss any additional materials needed at that time. $135
Tuesdays, July 2, 4:00- 5:30pm. See CONTEST for free drawing class! All beginners start at the same place, so we’ve opened this class to everyone age 16 to 96! Learn simple techniques for drawing nearly anything imaginable! During the four weeks, we’ll focus on still life, portraiture, contour drawing and landscape. Enjoy this intuitive and expressive way of thinking. Develop your visual language. Tuesdays, 4 weeks beginning July 2. $90. A materials list will be furnished one week prior to class (less than $10.) Mondays, 6:00-9:00pm. See CONTEST for free drawing class! Drawing the human figure has long been a staple for artists. With gesture and form drawings in this 5 week class, we will look at the structure of the head, two-dimensional shape relationships, and value. Experienced teacher and artist, Dan Keller has taught at WSU, CCS and the BBAC. All of the classes will utilize a live model throughout. $165, includes cost of model. Specific dates are: 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/29, and 8/5. (no class 7/22).

Students are asked to bring 2-3 inspirational images to work from and will leave at the end of the class with their own painting. And don’t worry about a cluttered photo!
