Mondays, 6:00-9:00pm. See CONTEST for free drawing class! Drawing the human figure has long been a staple for artists. With gesture and form drawings in this 5 week class, we will look at the structure of the head, two-dimensional shape relationships, and value. Experienced teacher and artist, Dan Keller has taught at WSU, CCS and the BBAC. All of the classes will utilize a live model throughout. $165, includes cost of model. Specific dates are: 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/29, and 8/5. (no class 7/22).
June 4, 7:00-9:00pm Where does one start to study art? Copying the masters is an age old practice to learn painting AND it’s a fun way to learn about color mixing and acrylic paints in our first class. In 5 weeks, we’ll explore watercolor painting, acrylic painting, oil painting, plus a short drawing practice each week to develop skills and comfort. Come and dip your brush into the world of art. Low pressure, high pleasure. Tuesdays, $123 per person, includes materials. Class size limited to 10 students, 5 students minimum to hold this class.
May 24, 6:00-8:00pm. Celebrate spring renewal by painting traditional Japanese style cherry blossoms with watercolor inks. Measures 12″ x 4.5″. In keeping with Japanese style, you’ll be carving your own personal stamp, called a Hanko. $30 per person, includes all materials. Register.
May 20, 7:00-9:00pm, Instead of fabrics, we’ll be using 12″ x 12″ wooden panels pre-routed traditional quilt designs. Have fun making color choices and watching your quilt take shape. These look great inside or hung outside in your favorite garden spaces (you will need to seal them and hang them in a somewhat protected spot). $26 per ticket, 18 seats available for this workshop. May 10, 7:00-8:00pm. Music and story served with tapas. Dr. Chelsea Koziatek (flute) and Dr. Tia Harvey (narrator) will perform “The Nightingale and the Rose” by Oscar Wilde. Jay Ravani (chef) will serve his creative tapas making this a delicious evening! $45 per person.

Mary Jane Erard is an award winning artist mostly in soft pastel. Her works are usually rural landscapes of the US and Europe. A juried member of the Pastel Society of America for over 20 years, Mary Jane has been represented by the Collector’s Corner of the Toledo Museum of Art. She teaches pastel painting courses in Ohio and Michigan (and at Articipate). She appears in the May 2019 of Southwest Art Magazine, Anniversary Issue. Please join us for this community event to increase support for art and artists. Refreshments served.
