December 10, 6:30-8:30pm. Learn how to make gorgeous glass art. Prepare and cut glass pieces, then design your own ornament, 5″ tall and two small pendants. $37.00 per person, all materials included. The glass art will be ready for pick up on December 17th.
November 13, 6:30-8:30pm. Loose, Accurate and Expressive!
Become more confident and loose as a painter in this 5 session class with a combination of quick, fun gesture exercises as well as longer duration paintings. We will focus on portrait painting basics using photo references and a simplified palette. This class is for all levels.
Liz Frankland, instructor, will demonstrate to show the essentials of brushwork, value and composition with individualized attention.
The best way to improve is through practice! We will do several ala prima paintings, which are completed in one session. Liz will demonstrate multiple limited palettes in order to create a better understanding of the human form with greater accuracy and expression.
This is an acrylic painting class but we will also do some charcoal drawing. A materials list will be sent to registered students. Space is limited to 12. $139.
Thursday, Dec. 5. On this 2nd Pallet Word Christmas Tree, you’ll enjoy Ladies Art Nite. These trees measure 24″ tall and you can customize your own color combinations. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 4:00-6:00pm. Good old paper mache. Nothing lends itself more to creativity than forming the shape as well as the surface. Paste paper draped over wire and cardboard creates a sturdy, hardshell in any shape. Make an animal, a bracelet, a bowl, a shelf…endless possibilities. This new class has 3 sessions (every other week) Tuesdays: Oct 22, Nov. 5 and 19. $75.
Thursday Oct. 17, 7:00-9:00pm Experience the wonderful medium of watercolor! We will learn several painting techniques and apply them to various painting subjects each week. No prior experience is necessary, but all levels are welcome. Nancy Barick from Northville’s Art House will teach. With gesture and form drawings in this 5 week class, we will look at the structure of the head, two-dimensional shape relationships, and value. Experienced teacher and artist, Dan Keller has taught at WSU, CCS and the BBAC. All of the classes will utilize a live model throughout. $165, includes cost of model. June 4, 7:00-9:00pm Where does one start to study art? Copying the masters is an age old practice to learn painting AND it’s a fun way to learn about color mixing and acrylic paints in our first class. In 5 weeks, we’ll explore watercolor painting, acrylic painting, oil painting, plus a short drawing practice each week to develop skills and comfort. Come and dip your brush into the world of art.
