August 24, 1:30-4:30pm. Combine drawing and other art media with reflective writing to explore our relationships to the world outside-a sometimes demanding and turbulent world, and how it affects and interacts with our personal /inner world. How do we visually express boundaries between the inside and outside, notice what grounds us and keeps us centered and able to react from a place of wholeness?
We will use the Open Studio Process, a simple three stage process of art and writing. This process can be used as a daily practice such as journaling or as part of an art practice or to simply to notice what is needing our attention.
August 23, from 6:00 pm. Artist reception and exhibition of 16 new photographs by Robert A. Zeichner, made in the spring of 2019 on three islands in the Cyclades – Sifnos, Milos, and Paros. While the whitewashed buildings clinging to the hillsides and narrow alleys winding through tiny villages are commonplace in this part of Greece, every island in the Aegean has its own personality. These images try to capture some of those subtleties played out under a quality of light that is difficult to describe. You just have to experience it.
Please join us for an artist reception with refreshments on Friday evening, August 23, from 6:00-8:30pm at the Articipate Gallery, 3833 12 Mile Rd. Berkley, MI 48072
