Acrylic Painting: Visual Story @ Articipate | Berkley | Michigan | United States

For the beginner to advanced skill levels: Learn how to paint more loosely but accurately with confidence in this five-week painting class.  We will focus on painting a figure within an interior space inspired by the 1958 movie “Indiscreet” with Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant.  Classic movies have a visual style that translates nicely into representational paintings in the tradition of Edward Hopper.

Liz Frankland will combine demonstrations, one on one instruction and positive encouragement. Fundamental skills about composition, color, value and brushwork will be demonstrated step by step each week until the painting is complete.  We will work from the same image and learn the process and problem-solving of creating a painting.

Using a split primary palette, which includes 2 reds, 2 blues, 2 yellows and white, we will make color charts and black and white sketches that will prepare us to paint more confidently!
