CALL FOR ART: “Unwritten Rules: An Abstract Exhibition"

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Articipate invites local emerging and established artists to submit their work for our upcoming Abstract Art Show. This juried exhibition celebrates visual art that moves beyond traditional representation to focus on form, color, texture, and emotional resonance. Spectators and buyers from the Metro Detroit area will gather to celebrate your creativity.

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

- Geography: Open to all artists aged 18 or older who are within hand-delivery distance of Berkley, MI. (No shipped artwork accepted).

- Mediums: All visual art forms are welcome, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and textiles.

- Display Rules: All accepted 2D work must be framed, securely wired, and fully ready to hang on the gallery's Stas Hanging System. A physical label must be affixed to the back of each piece listing the Artist's Name and Artwork Title.

SUBMISSION & DIGITAL CRITERIA

- Artists may submit a maximum of three (3) entries.

- Initial submissions must be uploaded digitally via our online registration page.

- Image Format: High-resolution JPEG files, at least 330 dpi and under 5 MB per file.

COSTS, SALES, & COMMISSIONS

- Entry Fee: $10 total per application (non-refundable).

- Artwork Sales: Work does not have to be for sale (NFS is permitted). 

- Commission: A 25% commission will be collected by Articipate on all gallery artwork sales during the exhibition.

EXHIBITION TIMELINE

- Submission Deadline: October 20, 2026 (11:59 PM EST)

- Artist Notification: October 24, 2026

- Hand-Delivery Artwork Drop-off: October 29 (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM) & October 30 (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

- Gallery Exhibition Dates: November 1, 2026 – November 28, 2026

- Opening Reception & Refreshments: Sunday, November 1, 2026 (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

- Closing Event & People's Choice Award: November 28, 2026 (Award announced at 6:30 PM)

- Artwork Pickup: November 28, 2026 (7pm)
